THE STUDIO BUILDING
133 E 66th
Street, NY
This New York City Landmark Building was designed by Charles Platt and built
in 1906. The building was conceived as a cooperative studio apartment complex
for artists though few actually took residence. The original design was executed
in a growing novel trend of urban apartment projects at that time, that provided
ownership without the burden of maintenance. A comprehensive restoration program
commenced for the building’s 100th Anniversary that included masonry repairs,
cornice reconstruction, roof and parapet repairs and window restoration.
